So it's been awhile. But, nothing all that eventful has happened in my life really. Except for my brother has joined the army, I finally got my permit AND it's almost Christmas time. I've got no shopping done what so ever. I did manage to pick up one thing for someone though. Who it is for and what is it shall remain undisclosed though. The times are catching up to us I think. Now longer is shopping for people easy. I'm seventeen and I heard me have a conversation with my friend THAT I then heard my mum have. It was ridiculous. Shopping when you can't drive is a b**** also. I idolize... okay maybe not idolize exactly just envy those my age who can drive. Damn me being lazy and not getting my permit. But, I know of another who is suffering the same fate. So BWAHAHAHA!
In other news. My grades have rapidly increased because I stopped being an idiot in school. I actually did work and tried hard on tests. It makes you hate those who taught you 'School is important.' mainly because they're right. I also received my grades back from the PSATs. The pathetic sick academic tests are really freaking annoying. I never grasped why instead of giving you a normal grade they suddenly convert your grades into numbers that pass the 1000s. I never understood the point of that. I never will either. But, all in all school has been pretty easy with the exception of a research paper due the end of my Christmas Break. Which, starts on the 22nd and ends January second which sucks. I wish we had a day to get sleep.
I've recently been getting into a lot of new bands like
Regina Spektor,
Taking Back Sunday, The Academy Is...,
Spoon,
Brand New and
The Plain White T's. They are all very good and I find myself constantly switching between them. I've listened to two of Regina Spektor's albums and man can she sing! She's like Jenny Lewis with more of an attitude. Taking Back Sunday is probably the most sassy band I know of. The Academy Is...'s singer is a really good one. He can switch his voice and gives speed with the music very well. Spoon is like if the Beatles emerged on the scene today only a few years younger. Brand New are just assholes but a great band. The Plain White T's to me is like taking Coldplay and combining them with Taking Back Sunday. Adding Elliott Smith into that equation is what will most likely make up my Winter music. After the lineup I had two years ago I have high expectations. The music I was listening to changed from mainstream stuff that's catchy to some of the best written lyrics and best performed bands. Elliott Smith, The Shins are two of this AMAZING line-up. That was a good year I'm not going to lie.
Well, I'm writing this in the morning so I must be going for school. I REALLY hope it's cold out but I doubt it.
