hey guess what, I'm a lifeguard!!
like, for serious. I am a certified lifeguard for the next three years. the night before Sarah and I argued over who would become the lifeguard because our shichva could not sacrifice two madrichim. the morning started off interestingly enough. the instructor, dan, told us to eat fast before we would do our first test of the day. he told us we would have to swim eight laps around the swimming area. that scared me so much. I in no way wanted to swim that much. but I had to. the original group was myself, Iris, mark, and hank. hank left after the third lap. he was replaced by rick who also gave up fast. JJ came by just because he felt like it and passed the basic requirements. Then sarah came despite our long hours of arguing. once again we are together on something. the entire tzevet thinks our involvement is a complete joke. they tease us endlessly. we ended up doing only 8 laps in actuality because Dan was just that cool. we then practiced our jumps and entries into the water in several situations. that was the easy part. then came the annoying holds. I was pretty bad at those. all the ways to hold a victim so that you do not break their neck. However I am good at placing a body on the backboard and then moving them around. after all that we learned really basic first aid and CPR. once again I am certified in CPR. yay!!! I have been staying up really late and its becoming a problem. I am really big on habits. when i start doing something I soon make it a tradition. and tonight I have shmira again which really doesn't help. also last night I actually displayed my flexibility. as in the whole thing. needless to say, my audience was impressed.
