Education about Nico Nico Douga (Smiling Videos)

Aug 20, 2008 14:22

It is once again a slow day in the office. Having done most of  the things I need to do uptil the 22nd of this month, I have so many free time. I should be studying Nihongo which I procrastinate a lot lately. Instead of doing that,  I hit Nico Nico Douga for PVs, karaoke videos and whatnot to pass the time or play as BGMs as I finish of what I need to do.

(I will be posting some links in these post but be reminded that you need to register to view things in Nico Nico douga. The application form is in Japanese but you can manage for there is google translate or babelfish or even Jimbreen for you. Bu those who really want to have a better online translator( this is not 100% correct but I find it better than a whole gamut out there) here is the site to go. 英語翻訳 - エキサイト 翻訳)

First I scoured its servers to find  out  if there is a karaoke video for a song in the  DS game,  "Rhythm tengoku Gold".  The title of the song is  ドキッ!こういうのが恋なの? it is of the worst bubblegum jpop kind you can imagine there is. Its so damn LSS inducing. 甘えたいけれど恥ずかしいかもね~.

Next would be looking for Big Bang videos. You might be asking, "Why are you looking for a Korean rap/pop boy group in a Japanese user content driven site?" The answer is that I am curious of  their full English album released for the Japanese market. Even now I cannot get the concept of that. Why release a full album recorded in English for the Japanese market who is terrible at English? Were they trying to get a niche and differentiate themselves from the likes of BoA and 東方神起?

Anyways, I was able to find some PVs from their super popular album from Korea and some also for the Japanese market. As always their "Last Farewell" is sooo LSS inducing.  I have sampled some of their songs in English  and I can say for a Korean band they are one of the most audible and has nice pronunciation .  Only  a couple of members of the band has this still slight  Korean "lisp"/"accent" that is very faint to the ear.

Then I searched for Sukima Switch songs, particularly 全力少年. I was able to get some nice videos but not the actual PV of it circa 2005.

スキマスイッチ/全力少年~UGA風カラオケVer.~‐ニコニコ動画(夏) is the video rip of a karaoke video by UGA風. It has nice furigana at all the difficult kanji and the letters are really big to help you sing the song.

There is also this video of a live performance of the band of the song with an orchestral accompaniment. Too bad the sound was crappy or it would have been amazing!

Lastly I searched for Home Made 家族 PVs. I was able to see only the recent ones save No Rain No Rainbow.  I really liked their PV for EASY WALK!...

Comments about the video:
 * Kuro looks mighty fine in this video. Heehee.. Nice style... Where did he get  that crown ring?
* There was this part of the video that Micro was street dancing with these children. It was cool and funny at the same time. Its cool coz you see children street dancing. It was so funny because you cannot distinguish Micro from the kids because he is as short as them XD
* As usual DJ Uchi is just standing around and fake "Dj-ing" most of the song. But I like about this video is that there was one part where he was with his other DJ friends goofing around.
*Kuro gives the cheesiest answer to the question where is your most favorite place. He says... "The place where my darling is at" XD wwwwwwwwwwwwwww. Dj Uchi gives a very honest and very amusing as it is so expected of him as "My room".

* 最高 is a definite kanji you will learn after watching a couple of Nico Nico videos because it is one of the generic words for "AWESOME".
*Seing  "wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww" means that the commenter is really liking the video. It is like a statement that says "This is cool or LOL" depending on the context.
