So, updating everyone on my situation.
Work is, well, work. My manager said he was trying to get me a business card so I could take days out with the company and get some face time, but that seems to have all been just talk. Can't say I'm too surprised.
Nancy took me to Esther's Follies the other day. Funny as all freaking hell, let me tell ya. It was a close call, though. Nancy hadn't been in a while, and I've NEVER been there, so between the two of us, we weren't exactly sure how to get there. Well, we made it there with time to spare, but we wound up taking 10+ minutes trying to find a parking garage (Frickin' 7 bucks to park in this place.)
But, we managed to get in at the last possible moment. We missed the opening act (Which Nancy claims is the best part,) but we were lucky to get a couple of seats in the nosebleed section together! And believe me, it's totally worth it.
Nancy's folks continue on their little "Hating me without meeting me" bit. Their big problem with me is the fact that I don't have a college education. Excuse the hell out of me for not being able to AFFORD one until recently. With Nancy's help, I'm signing up with ACC for their Fall Semester, and getting some classes out of the way. It's not much, but hopefully it will get Nancy's parents off my back, or at least get them to hate me for a better reason.
