Man Without A Planet
Greetings Earth people! I have released my 6th solo album, Man Without a Planet. The whole thing happened last weekend when I woke up at 2:30 AM and couldn't get back to sleep. I decided to get up and play around with the Commodore 64 sounds offered at the online sequencer WebSid. And by 6 AM I had a new album!
The title is not really an homage to anything in particular. I thought it was original when I came up with it decades ago, but have since discovered at least two science fiction books with the same name. But no albums! By the year 3000 I suspect every musician will have an album called Man Without a Planet floating around in a digital ocean of otherworldly tunes.
The record would have been too short, so I included remixes (or do-overs, if you prefer) of the tune "Gliding on the Psychic Seas" from my first solo album (Psychic Awakenings) and of "The Star Call" (from my second album Slit Wrists & Amber Waves).
I created the cover from my own digital art. But I created an alternate cover from an old 1960s comic book too, which I'll share below.
