Nostalgia
It friggen snowed again. I am getting tired of the snow. I don't remember it snowing this often in years before. It's been pretty much daily now, that it snows for at least a little while. Though it's quite warm today so if it does do anything, it'll either be rain or wet snow. Spring, can we haz nao plzkthx?
I had some nostalgia trips over the past couple of days. Seeing Backstreet Boys and New Kids On The Block performing at the AMAs, I had no idea either band was still active. It was fun to hear all those old songs from childhood and teenagehood, but it wasn't the same. I thought BSB especially was trying to revamp their career, only to find out they hadn't really stopped but they seem past their prime now. Especially without five members, the harmony is off. And New Kids...geez I didn't recognize half of them XD But hey, more power to 'em, they obviously have enough fans to sustain stuff. I think it's true that I've been spoiled by G XD A lot of western artist bore me. Some of the music catches me, but it doesn't hold me anymore. Then I found an oldish performance of Dispar and Redemption from 2007. Everytime I hear Redemption or see it performed always reminds me of that first time I ever saw the vid. And then there's this song:
I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it. I even remember what server I was playing on, and the character I had made (night elf druid). It just created this incredible atmosphere, and the game seemed most 'real' in the night elf areas than it did in any others. It's probably the only song out of the entire original music that can stir up those early days, when I was a noob afraid of the owls flying above the path that would take me from Aldrassil to Dolanaar (later discovered that creatures with yellow names were neutral. The spiders down the road did get me though), didn't realize there was a difference between Thistle Bears and Rabid Thistle Bears and why PVP servers sucked royal ass XD I miss vanilla WoW so much. The starting area for night elves isn't too different, but I miss making a low level character just to relive the experience. It's just not the same with the changes. I don't miss the warlock imp quest in Elwynn Forest though; they put the damn book you have to steal beside a tent, where three bandits are standing. And all three attack you at once. I do miss the bandits themselves though. Better than orcs.
Can't wait for CAGS tonight. I think I'm going to have to do a huge Taichou post, because the REBIRTH bracelet keeps snapping. I think he's mad at me >.> The only bracelet out of nine that gives me grief.
