Stunning Development?

It appears tomorrow will be then en [at least on Fox] of the much-loved Arrested Development. As much as people will ask "How can this show leave?", the question is really "How did it stay on the air for three (partial) seasons?" I will actually give Fox some credit, not only for allowing such a show to be made, for not messing around with it's style but also for sticking with it for so long. The extra years have made the viewers love it more and more, which makes it harder to see it go, but we are luckier for it. Every year there is a smart show or two that doesn't catch on, something like Freaks & Geeks, and they are lucky to last four episodes.

I can fully understand why the show didn't catch on - sometimes confusing narrative, jokes that fly by only to be seen on repeat viewing - but what can one do? Fox hasn't even bothered to update the show's website for it's final run. Hell, it's kind of surprising they are running the episodes. They might've gotten more money by saving them for the Season 3 DVDs, making people buy the package so they could see the show's end.

I'm not expecting it to continue on another network like Showtime. Don't want to get my hopes up. We've got enough episodes to watch for years to come, continually finding the hidden jokes and continually asking "Why?" The truth is, we know the answers.

Here's a Newsday article about the final two hours. Be warned, there are some spoilers at the end. All I will say is this: Judge Reinhold!

I've got to find some new TV shows. I don't know why I still watch The O.C. and Veronica Mars has gotten to be so bad that I'm not sure if it's parodying something [what exactly it would be parodying, I'm not sure. Maybe itself?]. Lost is becoming kind of dull. The flash backs are annoying and the plot twists seem dismal in comparison to the first season. Luckily Scrubs is back and unchanged [ie. awesome]. The Office is still going strong, especially with Jim and Pam developments, but I'm afraid the character of Michael Scott will only have so long a lifespan before he gets annoying. There must be something I'm forgetting... it feels like I watch more tv than this [other than The Daily Show... which is like a religion]

Speaking of The Office, check out Jenna Fischer's blog for TV Guide. It's amazing how many of the cast members write the scripts or direct the episodes.

Do people prefer when I link bands/tv shows everytime, or just the important stuff?
