Fresh Grease and a New Boot

There’s no prescription drug plan for aging autos - just hundreds of dollars worth of preventative maintenance and repairs.

And it doesn’t make any difference how reliable they’ve been or how adorable they are, you still have to replace all their little bruised and rusted parts when they break. It's no good letting them romp across the nation’s highways getting all dirty and tired out without at least a little TLC afterwards. Sorry, but pets on the dashboard (no matter how lovingly administered) just don’t cut it with heavy machinery.

So I’m crossing my fingers this sort of thing doesn’t become a trend. I need Oswald to stay around for a long time still. Like, an unrealistically long amount of time. I can’t afford for him not to...and I don’t just mean financially. That car’s more than just transportation at this point. He’s like my big metal best friend that I can sit and listen to NPR in. And let me tell you, when you find a friend like that you hold onto them.
