Generic Winter Holiday and New Years
I ended up working both Christmas Day and New Year's. I didn't really mind in either case - both days were slow and I got paid a whole lot. I don't feel like it detracted from either holiday any.
I spent Christmas Eve with fractallia's kin. The mood in that house that particular night was "full". There were people everywhere and the floor was covered in packages and wrapping paper. Amidst the clambering children, we succeeded in giving each other our gifts. She gave me a delicious bento box with the word "Dragon" written in Japanese. It's gorgeous - sleek black, red and gray lettering. It fits together nicely and has two compartments in which to keep separate parts of a meal. She also got me some cutting tools for shaping chunks of rice, and an adorable manga cookbook that actually gives you recipes in comic book form. It's pretty awesome.
To top things off, she also knitted me a scarf that has various shapes and emoticons knitted right into it. It's amazing. I bought her a bunch of movies, books, and cd's that she had been missing since more or less the time I met her. I even made little customized gift labels with her face on them in a variety of poses!
I drove to Dallas the weekend after Christmas and hung out with my family for one day. I hugged my mom, ate meatballs, petted my puppy and slept on the floor. It was a typical visit. Near the end of the day, boredom overtook us and my siblings and I ended up playing a World of Darkness one-shot. I took the scenario from a book I had. It was a simple scenario: you are all young human mortal adults in a small town and weird shit starts happening and you have to find out what's wrong. The thing is, half of the players chose things like "gunslinger" and "speciality in assault rifles". Here I was thinking, "awesome, we're going to have a firefight," but what ended up happening was "shit, we need to skip town and get as far away from the story as we can." So, that's what happened. It was fun anyway, and I think I may have created a few fans.
Sexy 20's Party
wesbante, feetwilltravel and savanni know how to throw a party. I don't think I was there for even 10 or 20 minutes before an orgy broke out in the tent out back. I thought it was odd, since it was actually very cold outside, but we made it work. I got my freak on, had a number of particularly pleasant experiences, and then gave generic winter holiday gifts to emmainfiniti and gryphynkit. It was very nice to know that I was able to get things that both of them wanted. gryphynkit and savanni gave me awesome gifts in return. They were the kinds of things that a nerd would stuff under his pillow if he heard his mom entering the room.
I also have a great idea for a new World of Darkness Mage game. Some friends and I had started one a while back, but it never really got anywhere because I never really had a particularly strong idea. But I have one now, and it is in part thanks to those books. So thanks, gryphynkit and savanni. They will be the source of much terror and fun for people.
Other Stuff
Not much else to say. Life has been good: I like my job, I've been having immense fun with my friends, fractallia is about to move into a new apartment, and I've been on some great dates. I hope everyone out there in LJ-Land is doing well, too :)

I saw a gorgeous sunset on my way back from Dallas. The sky was bright blue, silver and orange. It looked like someone took a paintbrush and painted the sky with clear glass. It was absolutely stunning.
Man, there are a lot of parties coming up...
I know many of you already know about the internets, but it's never a bad idea to take a refresher course once in a while.
I started playing Bioshock recently. I know, I'm late to the party, but it's a badass game!
