Here is the update everyone has been waiting for. I am going to attempt to explain everything and I mean everything about our vacation.
Day 1: We left for Chicago around 11 and arrived around 3. We departed from OHare Aiport at 5:20, our flight was late. We then arrived at Charolette, North Carolina around 8, worrying that we might miss our next flight. Much to our suprise our next flight was late. We were moved to another gate, because of airport difficulties. Our first flight was extrememly crowded, actually to be honest, complety full. Then as we entered our next plane we noticed how many passangers were not on the flight. I guess no one was flying to Miami at 9. There was like 25 people on the plane. Everyone moved around, allowing each other much needed room space. We finally arrived in Miami around 11, with some minor transportation problems, and the loss of a cell phone we got to our hotel around 1. Everyone was asleep, and we were wide awake, so we decided to take a dip into the pool. I had a panic attack and had trouble breathing. My mother thinks I have a fear of water, and i just don't know it. I had many more attacks, but they weren't as bad.
Day 2: Our hotel was named the Wyndom. It was located on Miami Beach. The view was spectacular. We went out to the beach, and found many sea shells not to mention a coconut. The ocean was clear and warm. The same day we got lost trying to find a mall, but all was not lost because some crazy guy at Burger King made us a grasshopper, rose and fish from palm leaves. Miami was pretty cool, except for the fact no one spoke english. They said that 60% of the city is latino. It was hard understanding the watiers, hotel attendants and so on.
Day 3: We decided the stay at our hotel, well poolside the entire day. Mom actually bought me an Amareto Sour ( i don't know how to spell that). We read, swam, ate, and pretty much chilled the entire day.
Day 4: This was our boarding day on the ship. We arrived around 12:30 at the Port of Miami. It took quite a while to get through security and ticket check, photo id, pictures, ect. We finally boarded around 1:30, eager to explore our new home for next couple of days. We were located in Riveria Deck, the lowest deck of the ship. The room was small but we knew it wouldn't be the master sweet. Jeff and I explored the ship and found the pool, ping pong, the cafe, and the buffets. In general I ate every 3 to 4 hours. Mom and I watched this really cool show with singers and Dancers, and this really hilarious comedian. Jeff mostly read Harry Potter.
Day 5: The ship docked at Key West, and we were allowed to venture off from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. We left around 10, after diffuclty waking up. We took a small train into downtown, taking many pictures of the pretty houses. We went shopping, and visted the Pirate Museam. I have to say that that museam was the coolest thing every. To top it off we got to get a picture with a complete look a like of Jack Sparrow. This guy looked like Johnny Depp, and even talked like one. He was even honored by Depp for his effort in his costume and his job. I got to sit on his lap with his arm around me. OMG!.. We left Key West, and returned to the ship around 1. That day was formal night. We got dressed up and went to dinner around 5:45. We met up with our table mates, get to know them really well. I had many things in common with the two younger girls. The rest of the night was filled with bingo, a display of everything made of food buffet, Karoke, and clubbing. Your're right you heard clubbing. I went with two younger girls, and went to the Illusion Dance Club for adults only. I was the like the only white girl not grinding up with all the boys. I got back to my cabin around 1 in the morning.
Day 6: We didn't wake up until like 10. The ship had docked up in Cozumel, Mexico. We left around 1 and shopped till we dropped. We then went back to the ship to relax and go out later. Jeff wanted to see Mayan Ruins so we took a taxi. W passed much poverty, and it sadened me. The ruins were pretty cool and we got some really fun pictures. Then we went to Paradise Beach, were the waters were clear blue. Jeff and this other cute guy helped me up this really huge Iceberg shaped slide, that was inflatable. We didn't get back to the ship until like 8, after my mother bought acoholic candies. Speaking of Alcohol, and i know many of you won't belive me, but trust me my mother was buying drinks for minors. I had aleast two a day. We played more Bingo, and ate the midnight buffet which was Mexican.
Day 7: This was the fun day at sea. We spent the entire time on the ocean. This day we all spent playing bingo, going to shows, putt putt, eating, ping pong, casino (that's right i was allowed to gamble, i even won 100 dollars), Men's Hairy Chest contest, Newlywed Game, Who wants to be an Millionaire, and many more attractions.
Day 8: This was a very sad, because we had to leave. I had so much fun and i hated leaving. We ended up taking another tour to the sea aquarium before we got back to our hotel. We watched dolphins, a killer whale, sea otters, sea lions, manattes, birds, sting rays, and many more sea creatures. We went back to our hotel and stayed the night. We spent most of it in the pool. I was happy not to have had an attack.
Day 9: Our flight left around 12 heading back to North Carolina. We had already gotten situated in the plane when a fight attendant came up to me and said that in honor of my birthday my family would be allowed to sit in first class. OMG! It was so awesome. The chais were huge and comfortable, we had unlimited snacks and drinks. We were the first chair behind the cock pit. We didn't try our luck in our next flight, but we did have some fun. My dad met up with us around 5 and we headed towards a Giadonnos to have a party with my uncle and I. I tasted real Chicago deep dish pizza and i loved it
Today i am exhausted and now i must prepare for school. I have many pics and they will go up later. LUVS, Mandy
