I know I constantly tell crazy stories of E.R., but i finally have one worth telling. It was the talk of the day. Yesterday, it was like any ordinary day, we had a full house. It included chest pain, broken limbs, sick elderly, and our most famous psyche patients. This was a very ordinary situation. Room 14, near the back, was inhabited by a drug user/crazy person. Security was stationed outside her door, to prevent her escape, well that's what we thought. In her mind she was trapped and there was no way out. But wait.. there was. She took out one the ceiling tiles and climbed up into the ceiling. I am guessing one of the nurses went back there to check on her, and found the room empty. She noticed the huge hole in the ceiling and called for security, engineering and the springfield police. She was trapped though because the ceiling ended before triage and the outside hall. We heard thumps coming from above us. She was running around trying to escape security. We pulled many patients from their rooms for safety measures. I am really surprised she didn't collapse from the thin sheets of tile. It took about an hour, four security guards, five police officers, one male nurse, and many more patient family members to finally get her down. The nurse and one of the security officers actually went up into the ceiling and literally dragged her down. The tasers the police were carrying kind of also helped. She was very frightened. She was eventually sent up to psyche. The E.R. was in a up roar of laughter. It was a very interesting situation. I just had to share it. I guess I have seen it all, i can't imagine what somebody could do next to top that.
