Life is slowing down

I have not posted in a while due to various things, but mostly because I keep hacking away at a post about Guatemala. It should be finished soon. It is taking a while because what I have to say is a little contentious and I think all of it is written poorly. That being said, apathy is rising and I will probably post it soon.

Writing and all of its aims has been on my mind recently, and I have started writing more. I have decided that doing nothing more than free-writing for now is good for me because my perfectionist nature has a hard time trying to write anything with a plot for fear of messing up the story. Free-writing solves that problem and can give me some interesting ideas for future stories. It is doubtful that any of these will be added to this journal but if you are curious I have no problems showing them to anyone.

My personal life has been slowing down. I am still working the same job with the same goal of paying off my loans. At last calculation I need about $2,000 more than I have now to make the final pay off. This means I will have missed my initial hope by about nine months. But I do not mind, as my laziness has paid off in terms of avoiding stress which has been a fairly typical roller-coaster.

I am also dallying with various web development projects, including a fan site for Regina Spektor. Strange, the things that catch my fancy. My custom blog received some work over the last couple months, but there is still no real future to be seen just yet. All these goals, no perseverance to push them through to the end.

There are a handful of comments and emails from people that I have not replied to yet. I encourage you to not take it personally, I have a tendency to let them pile up. Some of you know this better than others... no promises on when I will start plugging away at them, but it will happen some day. I also realize I owe at least a half-dozen people calls. No promises on that either. Communication was never my strong point.
