I can't wait for Serenity to come out, September 30th. I already saw it in a nearly-completed form, but I want to see it again anyway. I know you may have heard this before, but if you like Sci-Fi and are tired of the same old "Star Trek" sort where people follow the "formula," then you need to watch Firefly. I understand what you mean about jock voices. I find them to be a huge turn-off. Even smart jocks have jock voices, which is unfortunate because they can be talking about breaking new theories in quantum physics and you're like "Wow... you're an idiot." Even though they're not at all. Yeah you get it.

It could be worse: he could have a nerd voice. A guy came in to the Black Cow tonight with the worst nerd voice ever, but I thought nothing of it... until he started acting like a total dominating asshole. He played it like we weren't charging him enough ("So you got two larges with jimmies and caramel and a kid's cone" "Yeah and I got another sundae. I got another sundae. Did you get the other sundae?"), then complained about being overcharged for an extra sundae. I wanted to tell him to just give me the fucking five dollars but I figured he'd heard that sentence enough times in his life... while being slammed against a locker and wedgied.

So the moral of this story is, nobody likes assholes with nerd voices. Yes, the story was completely irrelevant.

But I agree with evilsheepy. At least give the guy a chance, not all of those who speak Jock live up (down?) to the stereotype.
