Superhero movies
I came to a realization the other day.
Apparently, I really love superhero movies. I realized this because I was thinking about some superhero movies that I wanted to see even though I knew they were bad. Like the Fantastic Four. I already know they're bad movies, but I want to see them anyway. I'm willing to bet that Daredevil is going to be stupid, but I am going to watch it anyway. I also plan on seeing Roger Corman's infamously terrible version of the Fantastic Four.
Maybe that's where you are when you truly love a genre, when you will watch almost anything in that genre regardless of what you expect from except for having that ritualistic fulfillment. So that's where I am with horror films and superhero films.
Everyone has film genres like that, now I know of at least two of mine.
