Today I got up at 7am to get ready and go on set for the first time. Second day of shooting, but it was the first full-length day of shooting and my first day on set.
At first, I mainly walked around and learned how everything was being set up and how a production flowed.
At one point, I was in the hallway of the Muncie Eye Center while they were setting up for the first scene of the day, and out of the door right next to me walks out none other than Doug Jones. I introduced myself to him, he gave me a two-hand handshake and said, "Have we met?" A little confused I said "No," but he then mentioned he recognized me from my picture on the blog. We exchanged a little more small talk and then he puts his hand on his stomach and said, "Whew, I hope my bowels are working. I'll be right back." Needless to say, I liked him right away. He came out and said, "Do NOT go in there." Then proceeded onto the set.
For the rest of the day, I bounced around the two sets, getting footage of the crew doing their work, getting some random interviews with crew members, and trying to take in as much of it as I could. I got to talk to Doug Jones quite a bit during his downtime, he's one of the nicest people I've ever had the privilege to meet. Then when we finished shooting at the Muncie Eye Center, I ate lunch with Doug, Morgan (the director), David (the writer), Andy (another writer), and Katelyn (an actress).
I had an absolute blast.
I had to leave around 4-ish to go to a Starbucks meeting, then I left and went to the second set. That one was even more cramped than the first one.
Now I'm at Mitchell Place Studio capturing the footage I took today onto the computer and working on my radio show. I have to go home and clean up and maybe go to the grocery store. Then I get to go to sleep and start the cycle over again tomorrow. I'm very very excited about this whole thing and how the rest will play out.
More to come later.
