at long last
Hey, I guess it's about time for me to fill you all in on my whereabouts as of late.
Week before last, a couple days after my birthday, the family decided to spend the long weekend in Florida, namely Disney World.*yay*
First couple days,everything is hunky dory. By The third day(last sunday), I wasn't feeling so hot. I started vomiting everything. Literally. By tuesday when we were to drive back home I couldn't even keep water down.
So, we went to the ER at a small hospital in a town called Leesburg about 30 miles out of Orlando. Where I spent the last 4 days being treated for Diabetic Ketoacidosis, and I found out that I have Type 1 Diabetes.*not yay*(my blood sugar was almost 500)
Basically, this means that for some reason,(probably genetic) my pancreas produces little to no insulin and I have to test my blood sugar a lot and I'll have to take insulin shots for the remainder of my exsistance. There are also a lot of diet restrictions I have to follow now.
All in all, it really isn't that bad, I just have to make adjustments to how my life is scheduled and give myself shots :/
The important part is this, for those of you who see me more often, you need to know that if I start staggering around or shaking/sweating a lot that I'm probably in need of sugar(one of the hazards of taking insulin is that it works fast).
