Well, that sucked. After a great concert (www.stonefest.com.au) and a sucessful auction we decided to grab some chinese on Saturday night because we were lazy/wanted to celebrate. Apparantly I was the only one who ate much of the satay combination though, because I'm the only one that came down with food poisoning afterward... Cue a sucky day and a half up for me.
Prior to that everything had gone to plan though so I can't complain too much. There were only two registered bidders at the auction (me and another bloke) and he didn't even bid at any point, so there was the right amount of competition. I ended up getting the place for $355,500 which was in the range of what I was after and actually $4,500 below the reserve price for the auction. Considering that a pretty ugly joint with only two bedrooms and one bathroom went for $356,000 early that day in the same area ($56k over the reserve price) I'm pretty damn happy.
Unfortunately it meant that today I had to deal with lawyers and banks, when I would have much rathered doing nothing but feel sorry for myself... ah well, I think it's all sorted now so I can just get on with being very very much in debt.
