Well... it happened. The 2 teams I was rooting for lost, leaving us with a Bears-Colts Superbowl. And campus may get pretty ugly in the next few days and weeks. The 2 teams that masses people care about here happen to make it. The worst part about it? I have to side with a team I would traditionaly root against, just to root against friends. So the lesser of to evils is.... Da Bears. For 3 reasons

1) I've been rooting against the Colts so much more and longer, I see no reason to stop now. Finally, a chance to watch them choke on the biggest of stages.

2) The last time a Chicago team won a major sports championship, the very next year a Detroit team that was previously awful, had an amazing season. 2 years ago, the White Sox win the World Series, and the very next year the Tigers have their first winning season in 15 some years, and make it to the World Series. Also worth noting... the Lions last NFL championship, (they have never one a Super Bowl, this was before the Super Bowl existed) came a year after Chicago made it to that game. (Though they lost).

3) The Chicago head coach is named Lovie... how can you root against him?

Thats all. I hope you enjoyed this very insightful scientific breakdown of the Superbowl and why everyone should root for Chicago.
