Ugh.
My parents are fighting about Hurricane Katrina and all the destruction in New Orleans. I see no use in this. Their fighting.. does it solve the problem? Does it even matter?
No.
And this is why I will never choose sides when it comes to the government.
Anyways. Tomorrow's the first day of school. It's thoroughily depressing. I'm looking forward to seeing whose in my classes and meeting my teachers, but then I'll probably just go back to being pissed off about it. It was a good summer.. I'll miss it for sure.
I woke up at like, 9:15 this morning and it felt like fall. But I love fall weather.. it's so nice. Not long after, Nikki started barking at the front door so I went to go see who was there. A cop that I didn't recognize at first, but then learned it was my dad's friends son, whose a Hingham police officer. Everytime my mom or dad sees a police car in town they freak out .. all 'Is it Jeff, is it Jeff?!' So they were thrilled that he stopped by. I haven't see him since he was in High school. I was about 4. Hence, the not recognizing part. He stayed for about an hour and was talking about people he's chased and arrested and shit.. it was so funny. It was nice to see him.
My mom drove me to the barn around 11: 00 and I went and rode Tucker.. he was pretty good. One thing that I'm working on is cantering down the center line to the left, leg yielding over to the quarter line, trotting and picking up the right lead, and leg yielding back to the centerline. It's not so easy. I only got it right once out of the like.. 10 times I tried. Usually I run out of room before I can get the lead. But everything else was good. Tomorrow after school = trail ride. I don't even care if I have to go by myself.
Then my dad came at 1:00 and took me to see Max. I spent a good 2 and a half hours with him, cause now that schools starting I won't see him as much. I rode him, he was a little shit.. but good still. He needs to get it through his head that if he gives, I'll give. And also if I give, he can't take advantage of it by drifting towards the barn and hanging on the forehand. But he does give... eventually. Lots of circles and stretching again. His joints weren't so stiff today which was good. After our ride, he got a full out bath. Shampoo and everything. It's kind of hard doing it by yourself, but he's usually well behaved. His coat is so nice now. In addition, he got his sheath cleaned, his feet done, liniment for his legs, he had a cut that was taken care of, bug-sprayed, his mane and tail brushed out, and Calm Coat that Melissa left for me on his tail. I'm sure the minute I left he went and rolled out in the mud.
Then I came home, took a much needed shower, and decided to update my Livejournal. I still have that History project to do.
Ha.
