carytown
today while glancing around at the scenery going by the car window in carytown i thought i saw R2D2. and i thought oh it must just be a mailbox or something and looked again. i still saw R2D2. at this point i started to wonder about myself. i looked closer, R2D2 was still there...though he looked kinda weird. seriously beginning to question my sanity i said "alex, i swear to you i see R2D2". at this point we were getting pretty close to where R2D2 was standing. and much to my relief alex saw it too, so we were both like wtf. turns out it was a mailbox, but a mailbox completely painted to look like R2D2 as we finally discovered when we drove by it. the really interesting/scary/amusing part of all this is that in my head before alex saw it i was thinking "i really have crossed the line" (to elaborate that would be the line into dorkdom that danica has created since i got her into star trek and swears she hasn't crossed yet :p). and my next thought was "but i don't even really like star wars!!" meaning if i had seen oooh lets say... data or frodo out of the corner of my eye i wouldn't have been surprised. not surprised at all. which i find very amusing.
