So I signed my lease for next year's place. It is quite nice to have that settled. It seemed like I couldn't get anything done without the comforting knowledge that next year's housing situation had been figured out and taken care of.

The closest intersection. You can see the ocean is very close, as well as DP.
My Greek Myth Professor is Will Ferrell. My Philosophy Professor is James Lipton (host of Inside the Actors studio), only this guy is more full of himself than James Lipton. It engages with himself when he's lecturing, reacting to his own jokes and theories. He'd be better off lecturing into a mirror.
We read a speech by Martin Luther King in Civil Rights Movement lecture on Thursday called "The Drummer Instinct". It was a philosophical stance on the nature of humans, prejudice, and negativity in the world. After reading the work, I have more respect for King than any other person in the history of man. He explained that all of us have the drummer instinct, a competitive instinct to be better than all the rest. We have an instinct to be worthy and relevant in this world. It is these instincts that caused segregation and prejudice, but it should not be an excuse for it. We can use these instincts for good though. We need to have the drummer instinct to be the best at helping people and providing for the world. I cannot duplicate King's words or concepts, but he managed to articulate life in a way I have longed to consume. King is an incredible human being.
