44th birthday
My Mom flew to Southern California to visit for my and Benjamin's birthday (his birthday party is Sunday).
Had a nice time visiting with her at the house Friday. She arrived around noon to my house. She broght me a nice book as a gift, "Death with Interruptions" by Jose Saramago.
Showed her a lot of pictures that I had posted on facebook (she is not a computer-savvy person), and took a spontaneous Me and Mom picture with me holding the camera :)
Then went and had a nice Japanese food lunch at Go Go Sushi in Pasadena. Sonjia joined us.
Mom and I both had the Special Lunch Boxes. Mine with fresh salmon and california rolls. Mom's was octopus with spicy tuna sushi. Sonjia got the BSC roll.
Then Julia, Mom, and I went to Toys R Us to get gifts for Ben's B-Day party tomorrow.
After shopping, then went to Twohey's for dinner. Mixed feelings about that choice.
It was very busy when we arrived, as Friday dinner crowd, and was 7pm. We ended up waiting an hour to eat!

The food was good, but too loud, and I was having trouble with the loudness and Julia being over-excited, and having trouble behaving with good manners. I ended up giving her ear a bit of a pinch to get her to listen to me to behave as I feel she should. Caused a lot of negative family drama, and mostly ruined the fun mood for at least another hour. Julia and I were finally able to say sorry to each other, and have a hug.

Got back home, then showed mom Netflix online, and how kid-friendly it is. Julia got to read Mom a story, Skippy John Jones, and they had good quality time.
Mom brought down some of Dad's things for me to have. A jacket of his, that I had worn during his last stay at the hospital, and two comfy pairs of sweat pants. Very sentimental,and loving.
Mom left at about 10:30pm.
