Adam's new morning show:
http://ehansen.us/Carolla/ I'm downloading and listening to it right now. Only 1 minute in, I have
no idea if its good or not. It will probably be good, in which case I'm
glad, because I was actually getting tired of loveline. Listened to it
so much I could damn near answer every question they got.
In the bay area I believe its on 106.9 and NOT live105.

After action report:
Oh my god the other dude is so fucking loud and annoying. Dameshek, I think it is. He's the guy who does sports, which is a HORRIBLE segment. His voice is just so abrasive, I really can't handle that guy. I skipped past it. Also, the singing is fucking terrible. People who cant sing shouldnt be singing on the radio, its NEVER funny or good.
Oswaldo might have been funny, I wouldn't really know, because there were too many Munich spoilers. Its kind of a tired bit (latinos having an accent...we get it).
The guy who does the sound effects is not very good. He reminds me a lot of the guy who did them for Howard Stern, who just plays them for entirely too long, and too loud. They really detract from the show when they're as uninspired as his drops are. He seemed very scripted.
But really the worst is the other hosts. The woman is okay, kind of vanilla. The guy is just boring radio host #1309, nothing to really say. Yes, Brokeback Mountain was about gay cowboys, that doesn't make you funny. Adam makes it funny when he tells Oswaldo that its an "action-packing" film. But the other guy is not really funny at all.
All that said, Adam is still funny. Its evident in the first 10 minutes of the show...the rest is all questionably entertaining. Its certainly better than anything else on radio, although thats not really saying much. But after seeing his late night show and the man show, I am not sure how capable he is of improving the show. Maybe its just TV he's not good at, Loveline did always seem to get better.

I didn't realize before how much Drew contributed to Adam. His new show is okay, but what it's really missing is an intellectual. Drew inspired Adam to speak as well as he does/did (for those of you who don't know, Adam actually has a very large vocabulary that he uses very appropriately). He lead Adam into interesting intellectual territory where most radio shows just don't venture (at least, not for very long). Drew was also smart enough to actually be able to call Adam on bullshit and effectively debate him. And Drew was insightful when it came to Adam's observational humor.
These other hosts didn't do any of those things (David & unnamed woman). Maybe they will at some time, but I fear he'll keep the news and sports segments, and that the show will develop a bunch of gimmicky bits a la Howard Stern. Anything involving a drum roll is generally a bad idea. Its just the first show though, so I'll reserve my judgement until next week.
Wow... Adam's dad didn't know that Adam did Crank Yankers.
