my mind's all over the place these days

Ok, as some of you may or may not know, Dave and I sort of broke up but now we're back together. And taking it REALLY slow. He graduates in a few months and I don't know where he'll be or whatever, but we'll see. I'm a free spirit, and I don't like to be tied down. Dirty or similar.

mreyeliner: as much as i like dating gay men
masselinkd: do you?
masselinkd: me too!!
...yeah

ashley says: haha, what happenend to the nidhi that always went to bed early
party sat night, i think

AND, I don't think I'll fail my classes. I say that now, but wait till first round of exams...382 shouldn't be taken at the same time as 235 and 240...or any other class. Sometimes I feel like I should worry more, but I don't want to worry. It's college, I'll get through it. I love college. It IS the best years. Well, every year is the best year :) I seriously love my life.

OTHER:

VOTE NO ON PROPOSAL TWO!
I went to a panel discussion on the effects of the California Civil Rights Initiative (Prop 209) to hear about the effects that it had on UCLA and similar, and I really feel adamantly about the topic now. It could, depending on how Michigan's Supreme court rules, take away funding for certain minority orgs, such as SWE or IASA. I know those groups probably don't affect most of you, but the proposal is not just about getting into college. It also affects the workplace. Apparently, the hiring rate of women at UCLA decreased when Prop 209 was passed. It could take away funding for a lot of women's programs, again, depending on how it's interpreted, and things like battered women shelters could be shut down. I think someone said that this actually happened in California.
Also, it would make a lot more people phobic about whether what they were doing constituted as affirmative action. That's why I feel like a lot less women would be hired b/c companies would feel like they're giving preferential treatment to women, or similar.
Maybe I'm just ranting, but I'm voting no. Have I bored you to tears yet?

Oh yeah, I was at Tricia's apt. doing hw at like 1:30 (watching this weeks project runway for the third time) and every reference that they made seemed like a reference to ME382. Pressure, design...Tim Gunn's dictionary...No joke, this is a fragment of a question for this week's 382:

"A roughtly spherical meteorite of pure iron passes through the Earth's atmosphere, causing surface heating, and impacts in the MIll pool (a local pond) creating a (uniform) pressure wave, and a certain amount of consternation..."
Tim Gunn used consternation on PR today.

Another question from 382:
"Your ancient granny dies and leaves you her most prized possession: an Urn of Pure Gold. One afternoon, while mixing paint-remover in the urn, you are disturbed to note that it has turned an evil green in colour. Whipping out your magnifying glass, you observe that the paint remover, in attacking the urn, has also etched it, clearly revealing the presence of two phases. This (of course) raises in your mind certain nagging doubts as to the Purity of the Gold."
There's more, but I'll leave you with this absurdity.

In other news, I haven't seen my roommates in 2 days. WTF.

This was supposed to be a short entry, but I'm glad I wasted your time :)
