Dreaming in Reality
It is raining hard in the small city of Woods Point. It hasn’t rained this hard here for years. The small streets are flooding up, drains are overflowing, and cars are getting stuck in the water. Lightning has been coming down, following booms of thunder. The taller buildings are being hit by lightning, car alarms are going off from the thunder, and nobody can be seen outside. Every car eventually stopped moving, and the people are just hoping they would be able to last through this storm. The rain kept pouring down, and there was nowhere for the water to go. Instead of the water leaving through drains, the town started to float away. The town floated south, and the storm stayed where the town formerly was. Somebody is seen pointing outside of their window at a floating blob in the water. A kid in a raincoat is seen, in what appears to be a fishing boat, heading towards this blob. The blob is taken out of the water, and it seems to be this kid’s dog. The dog is found , and the kid disappears.
Alex woke up suddenly, looked at the time, and got out of his bed. It was 8:00 a.m., on a Saturday. He walked over to his window, looked into his yard, and saw his dog sleeping there. A sigh came from him. He got out of his plaid pajamas and got into some old jeans, a white t-shirt, and put on his torn up tennis shoes. Alex went out into the kitchen of his house, thinking about his dream and how real it seemed. He grabbed a bowl from the cupboard, and poured himself some Captain Crunch. The dog came in through the dog door, and begged for food
“Alright alright,” Alex muttered, “Here’s your food Spud.”
Spud was a mutt. He is a mix of pointer and border collie, black with weird shaped white spots.
Alex stopped eating his food and pet Spud for a while.
“You know what I dreamt of last night?” He asked Spud, “No? Well, I dreamt of an impossibly large rainstorm that hit us. I dreamt of our city floating away. I dreamt of you drowning.”
Spud just looked up at Alex wagging his tail, oblivious of anything Alex just told him. That’s the wonderful thing about animals, thought Alex, They can‘t comprehend what you tell them.
Alex headed out of his house through his garage, passing his fishing boat and car, and got distracted by the sky. Off in the distance, dark clouds were moving as if they were smoke being blown by huge fans. The colors of the sky were just so full of awe. The dark clouds were just the size of a small city, and behind them you could clearly see blue sky and small, white clouds. Amazed at this site, Alex forgot that he left the door open, and Spud ran down the street. Alex didn’t notice Spud was gone until after a few more minutes of staring into the sky and then searching for him in the house.
Alex went inside and turned on the news, rather than search for Spud. (You see, Spud has been a nuisance to Alex ever since he was found.) The weather channel reported small floods forming where ever these dark clouds moved. And not an hour later, the clouds were over this small town of Woods Point.
Drains were starting to overflow from the heavy downpour of the rain. Everyone who was outside found shelter, for it was too cold and too wet outside to be safe. Alex looked out of his window, and remembered about Spud. Since Alex did have a heart, he decided to go out and search for his dog.
“Spud!… Spud!…” called out Alex, repeatedly.
There was no answer. Alex headed back for home, because the water level was just raising up too fast. He got out his fishing boat from the garage, patched up the few rust spots, and went out searching for his dog once again. He was the only person outside by this time, and for some reason this seemed vaguely familiar to him. Well, because it seemed familiar he decided to head towards the neighborhood that he dreamt where his dog was.
After minutes of traveling through the “streets” to find Spud, Alex noticed something floating in the water. He went towards it, and found out it was his dog, Spud.
Spud was . He was a dog who apparently couldn’t swim.

Hours later, Alex went outside of his house when the storm died down. He looked around his neighborhood and noticed something different: None of these buildings were here before. Actually, not even his house was here before. The whole town must have floated away because of the storm. Finding this to be true, freaked out Alex.
“But… But I dreamt of this!” Said Alex, confusedly, “I wanted Spud to die sometime, but not like this! Not by drowning from a dream I had!”
Alex sat down on what would have been his front lawn, and started thinking to himself. How could this happen? How could a whole town float away and a dog drown, from my dream? Perhaps it was because of Alex’s recent moving to this house. He didn’t like this town, and he knew it.

Many Dreams Later…
Alex has long since figured out this “insanity” that has recently been taking place. When he dreams of reality, reality happens. If he dreams of finding some money on the ground, the next day he finds money on the ground.
Alex watches the news a lot more now, ever since the flood happened. He watches and sees how the world is, and what he could change about it.
One day, Alex notices something different in his dream, that he didn’t control.
He noticed something happening that he didn’t want to happen. He started dreaming of being a failure in life, and losing respect from the people around him. He thought this dream wouldn’t come true, because he wasn’t controlling it. He thought wrong.
The next day, his power went out and was caught stealing a bag of chips from the Grocery store. He didn’t remember taking any chips, and because of his dream he specifically stayed away from the chip section, but there they were, in his pocket. Something weird was going on.
That night, Alex dreamt of himself writing his name down on a paper. He repeated “I am Alex” over and over, and all of a sudden some of the lines started changing. One after the next, they started saying “I am Lucy-fer.” Alex tried to take control again, and started writing “Why are you here?” on the paper. The paper went blank and then showed “Because I control you…” This sentence scared Alex. It terrified him, and he started sweating and woke up.
It was morning, and nothing happened. Nothing unusual happened that day, and that is probably because he didn’t dream of anything but the paper that he and his visitor wrote on. This mysterious visitor apparently named “Lucy-fer”
That night, Alex went to bed wanting to know more about “Lucy-fer.” He starts his dream, and is back to his sheet of paper. Lucy has already written something.
I am actually here to destroy you. I am here to even out the scales of justice, and take control of your misused dreams.
“What have I done wrong?” writes Alex.
You don’t know what you have done wrong? You have only been doing things for the better for YOU. You have only been fixing what was wrong with you, and I have to destroy this beautiful thing of yours.
Alex woke up suddenly. He couldn’t move, but he could see everything in his room. He couldn’t feel anything, but knew what was there. It was still dark, but he saw a person in his room. She was beautiful, black haired, red eyed, and wore a black dress that was “gothic” looking. She grinned at what seemed to be Alex. It was Lucy, it must have been.
“Hello Alex,” said Lucy-fer, “You let me control parts of your dreams, so now I get to come into your life. I get to be what you wanted, and I get to destroy what you have become.”
“Lucy, Why are you doing this?” Alex cried in silence.
“I just want to destroy something beautiful.”
