nanowrimo
nanowrimo time again. I'm going to try an idea I came up with similar to many survival novels. Man vs nature, fighting the elements. But with a twist. This time, there will be a girl.
Two younger people, the young man older than the young lady I'm thinking 19 and 16, on a tour of Panama when the group is kidnapped by a cartel intent on keeping them for ransom. As the group is being split up for easier transport, the girl grabs the boy by the hand saying "fuck this" and they fall down a ravine into the rainforest, gunshots flying. then they lay there for a day, waiting for the cartel to give up on them. thus it begins.
Several months of finding food, shelter, avoiding cartels on both sides of the border and trying to get back to civilization. Will romance develop? Will they remain platonic? I do not know, but I'm taking suggestions. Could two young people, neither of whom have a significant other, avoid a romantic entanglement in such a situation? What if they aren't drop dead gorgeous, what if they are less than average?
Ideas are open, an d I'll keep you updated on progress. Tough project I known and the book will most likely stink, but that is my motto after all DTS.
