Fall round-up:

On Labour day weekend I:
 - went to Seattle but didn't attend Gender Odyssey. Glow and I saw lots of the conference attendees nonetheless at the Cuff on Saturday, and then at the Wet Spot on Sunday. It was good to catch up with folks. It was nice to see Cindy.

- Sunday we went for a hike on Tiger Mountain and saw 3 black bears together about 30-40 feet away from us. They weren't agressive, they just stopped to stare at us the same way we were gawking at them. One lifted it's head up and sat back on it's haunches to get a better view and it had a perfect, fuzzy black triangle of a head when viewed straight on. We speculated that they were adolescents (hence not as cautious as they should be).

They moved on (luckily) as they were blocking our descent down the mountain! This led to a post-sighting review of what to do in the event of a bear encounter - yeah for next time :). It was strange because the path was well-used, there were quite a few people around. For their sake, I hope they haven't become acclimatized to humans.

Post-labour day I:

- Have become extremely busy again at work
- have recommitted to art practice. I'll be going to my second life-drawing drop-in tonight. Life-drawing is not my forte, but it's a good, regular, reasonably cheap way to keep the creative vibes flowing. And right now I need the discipline of attending a class.
