So, How are things going?

Sep 11, 2006 10:44

Well, I'm about due for a big update, so I thought I'd let people know what's happening in my little world.

Well, theres a few topics to update on... work, friends, girlfriends, schizzle, accommodation and the future, so I think I'll hit them in that order.

  So.... Work first of all....
Well,  other than the sheer amount of work to do, work has been going quite well. Im trying not to overdo it, and at the same time get everything done that needs to be done. Lol, yeah, like they are both going to happen. My current project I have about 3 weeks worth of work left to do on it, and I have until the 25th to get it done.... Can anyone work out the maths of that? Yep...3 weeks of work into 2 weeks of space....
Hmm.....
Anyway so I'm trying to get that done, and the other projects we have on at the same time, and all while trying to balance life! \o/
All the systems that I'm working on are really cool / will be really cool when they are finished...its just the amount of time and effort that has to go into them cannot be compromised on if they are going to be polished products.
Something that I have to re-iterate to my boss on an almost daily basis ;)

Yeehaw!

And onto friends. I'm still popping down to Poole every fortnight to see friends. Despite recent events the group hasn't spontaneously combusted, although I think it may take a while to settle back down into a happy "norm".... well, if you can ever have such a thing. At any rate, I still go down to see them all, and try to spend a bit of time with each of them while I am there
I have a uni mate called Iain lodging with me at the moment while he finds a new flat to live in (I wonder who'll find somewhere to live first! More on that later). Its quite cool having him around, although our timetables mean that we don't get a great deal of time to chat about stuff.
As for London, I keep getting msgd by nadriel at really short notice for meeting up when I already have far too much work on ;). I'm going to have to arrange a proper weekend bash with him sometime next month...maybe get bloodred1889 up to London and all go out together as I think she'd find him...intriguing to say the least.

So, onto girlfriends!
Well...girlfriend I should say ;)
And, what can I say? Well, we've been together just over two months now, which doesn't sound like a long time but its getting to feel like I've known her for a lot longer than that. We have interests that overlap, and also individual tastes, which is really cool because it means we get to talk about all kinds of stuff and compromise on things that we don't agree on. (And no... I'm still not a fan of boxer dogs ;-) ). I'm really enjoying my time with her, and I miss her lots when I can't be around her...more so than the other people I go to visit. Sure I miss my friends to an extent when they aren't around...but its never a big deal for me. She *is* a big deal though.
And that makes me smile :)
She has a pull about her that I just can't escape....and wouldn't want to even if I could. I get the feeling I shall be forever here, circling her like a comet caught in her gravity...spinning round and round, and hopefully getting closer as time goes on.
We have our good days and bad days as everyone does, but the most important thing of the relationship is the openness that we share, and the level of trust we have.... I would speak more, but I'll just make you all sick so I'll save that for a locked friends post. :-)

Moving on once more, this time we come to Schizzle...or more technically.... phat lewt.
Spent far too much money this weekend, but I got the first part of my bonus through for the work I'm doing. \o/ And all the money I spent was worth it :)
Anyway, a bunch of us went out to the bowplex at Tower park, and I picked up chinese takeaway for bloodred1889 and myself while I was down just before we went out... technically our fourth date, chinese takeaway+bowling, but as she says I don't think anything will ever trump cleaning shit up in my flat. Also picked up Hollow Man on Dvd for £2.97! What a bargain!
Generally I've been trying to avoid spending money where possible, as I'm going to need any spare cash I have to move flat to a smaller / cheaper place (more on that later)....so hopefully I'll be able to travel down to Poole next weekend with bloodred1889 and steph_anie_88 in the art-coach and then re-use my ticket back up to London from this weekend! (Got to love month-long returns). They apparently do a college trip to London in the first week back (this week), and so if I'm really really lucky I'll be able to tag-along. Now....I'm a little scared by Art students sometimes, but they are generally really cool, so I should have nothing to worry about...being stuck on a coach for a few hours with them.... ;-)
I'm *so* glad bloodred1889 isn't a drama student. :D

So yeah, not a great deal of schizzle at the moment due to scrimping and saving, so onto accommodation. I have a month to find a new flat to live in (easily possible), and I have to hunt for potential places to stay. So many choices of places to look, but the practicalities of *where* I can look and the ability to take holiday to go see places is going to make the next month quite a Raaaaa time for me. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! I may be tired, grouchy, and sore from having to deal with estate agents, letting agents and the like. I'm hoping that I can extend my contract at my current flat for another month just to give me a bit of a buffer while I sort all the work stuff out and life, but I'm not counting on that happening.
So... Do I live in London, save lots of money (hopefully) and commute to Poole as often as possible to see my girlfriend and friends?
Do I try to live half way between, maybe save a bit, and not kill myself every day with commuting, but still get to see everyone a fair bit?
or Do I go the whole hog, and move to Poole....be potentially worse off financially, with long hours, but possibly the best people on the planet?

Or I can try a few other places, but no matter what happens, there is a few things I need to consider.

So, onto the future. What is happening now? what could happen? etc.
Well, the business is going to be moving soon... apparently down towards Waterloo station which would kick ass for commuting from Dorset (or even a little bit in that direction). As for the rest of london, Waterloo is as easy to get to as anywhere, so that wouldn't make much difference. This weekend I'm trying to see bloodred1889 again as the weekend after we have the Towersey Morris 40th Celebration mewhatsit...which will involve dancing...and drinking... and ... well more drinking. Its going to be great! I'll try and keep a record of all that goes on, but as my Camera is somewhat worse for wear, I'll have to resort to just accounting from memory (ho ho ho)
I'm even now looking forward to Christmas, and beyond to next year....and what will be happening then. God, when did *I* start planning for the future???

Anyway, thats enough for now. Would you like some Syrup with those waffles?

friends, work
