Little-Known Horror Films

Arch Hall was an... unusual looking guy who got into pictures mostly because his dad produced all his films. To say Hall's films were B movies is an understatement. Most likely you've encountered his work on Mystery Science Theater 3000 in the classic hotrod rock 'n roll beach party caveman flick Eegah!. As an actor... Well, here's a taste of his thespian skills, brought to you by the MST3K guys.

That said, Hall made one flick that, while still betraying a low budget, a cheesy script, and actors of middling ability, will stick in your head solely because of Hall's impressive ability to act like a creepy son of a bitch. The below scene set the bar high for future film psychos. (Set up: Hall and his girlfriend Judy are spree killers on the run, and they encounter three teachers in the desert, on their way back from a conference. Familiar story, yes? The "fun" starts at 4:57.). The Sadist may not be a horror movie per se, but it's plenty unsettling for a film made in 1963.

Here's the whole film, if you're interested in a good popcorn movie.
