I'll keep the details for now, but Rishi, Kate, and Elena have roped me into a new verse based on my missed connections that Rishi and Kate made me write tonight.
If you've not read or contribute
here do so! The others have GREAT ones and you should totes add your own! They're fun!
So, partly to make these all available and partly to put them in an easy to find place for myself here are the missed connections:
You were in a bookstore last Tuesday. I'm not really sure anything about you, but I saw her afterward, and whoever you were, she was bright red and biting her lip.
She's a bit shorter than average with black hair that almost seems blue. She probably had her nose buried in a book the whole time, which is a shame, because you really should see her smile.
Since that day, she's been listening to some American pop artists and smiling when no one's looking.
Whoever you are, you've made her happy. It'd be great if you could keep doing that. We'll make sure she's at the Crown this Friday. She'll probably be studying, drinking a vanilla something or another, and eating a sandwich. Please, feel free to interrupt her.
Do not even act like you didn't notice me. Oh, sure, I doubt anyone else noticed that your attention was not entirely on whatever file you were reading, but I doubt it takes you that long to read just one page...it doesn't take me that long to read one page no matter how boring it is.
You were dressed quite immaculately, something that you clearly spent time thinking about because no one just throws together Armani. Believe it or not, that's not what impressed me. It was the look in your eyes when I caught you looking. There is something behind your careful exterior, and I think I'd like to figure out who you really are.
I saw the way you looked at me. You saw that I'm more than a gorgeous face and body. You want to figure me out, too.
So, let's figure each other together. How would you feel about a nice single malt at the Montclair Lounge in the W? Friday evening, around 6? I'll have a red bow in my hair, but I think you'd know me regardless.
Idiot!
Do you really think I don't see you in the crowds twice a week?
If you want to make amends, pick up a broom already and get started. Otherwise, go away.
So, I feel like I know so much about you:
How you like your coffee: black, two sugars.
Your favorite sweets: have you noticed that there's always at least one more red velvet cupcake with sprinkles when you come everyday, whether it's after a case or at the end of your shift?
I know if you're wearing the black tie, you were with one of your kids in court. I know if you're wearing that ridiculously loud tie with the balloons on it that the Flyers are playing that night and you believe your wearing that tie brings them good luck. And if they lose you'll want to indulge in a hot chocolate with whipped cream instead of coffee.
I know your mother's birthday and that you send her flowers but that you also go and spend the day with her, even if you don't know if it'll be a good day for her. I know you feel guilty about her needing to be in a home, but that you visit her at least once a week.
I don't know your name. You always pay with cash and tip well, and do a really good job of not staring at my breasts though I know you want to.
So, the next time you come in, the cupcake's on the house. If you tell me your name.
T
he others did this (kinda...but, well, it counts...), so I thought I should too!
Even though it's silly and Mina says it doesn't count because we're not a missed connection, but I want in!
Anyway, you were all late the other night and the food Mako I cooked got cold and it was very sad.
So can you please tell your Residents not to keep you late tonight because I really don't want you to miss what is planned for tonight. <3
