Just a bit of crack. Does not belong to any existing universe.

I, obviously, own neither Sailor Moon nor Rent.

Amy closed her eyes for a moment, her hand lifting to rub at the back of her neck. A glance at the clock had her grimacing at how late it was. She should go to bed, but she had hit a roll on this paper, and while it was not due for a couple of weeks, she wanted to finish it. Besides, it was Friday night; she could sleep in in the morning.

She got up to pour herself another glass of water, turning with a frown when her cell phone rang. Not recognizing the song, she assumed someone had reprogrammed their own ringtone--which meant it was either Usagi, Mina, or Zoe. None were ones she wanted to hear from right now, and it wasn’t the communicator, so it could not be too important.

Picking up the phone, she saw a picture of Zoe--she really needed to lock her phone. Zoe would call until she answered, so with a sigh, she did so. “Hello?”

“You’re studying aren’t you?”

Amy rolled her eyes at the accusatory tone in the other woman’s voice. “Writing a paper, actually. And this is college. Studying is what you do.”

“It’s a Friday night, Amy. What time is it?”

Her jaw clenched at the question. Zoe knew very well what time it was, and she knew that Amy would know that. “Close to midnight.”

“My body’s talking to me.” Amy smiled as Zoe started to sing, though it was also a half grimace, knowing full well where this was going.

“Zoe, don’t...” She tried not to smile even more, rubbing at her forehead.

“It says, ‘Time for danger.’ It says, ‘I wanna commit a crime’.”

Amy mumbled, “I thought that was in your past.”

“Wanna be the cause of a fight. Wanna put on a tight skirt and flirt with a stranger.”

This time, Amy’s comment was louder, interrupting the other, “That’s romantic. Sounds like a lot of fun.”

She heard Zoe sigh, “Amy! That’s not the point. I don’t really want to flirt with a stranger. But you have got to learn how to have fun.”

“I have fun! I read, and I swim. I play chess. I have fun.” She did not mention how the others tend to drag her out for shopping and other things they considered fun. Nor did she mention how she wondered when they managed to study.

“Come on. Let’s go oooUUUUt tonight! I have to go oooUUUUt tonight! You want to play? Let’s run away! We won’t be back before it’s Saturday. Take me oooUUUUt tonight! meow.”

Amy gave up trying to fight the smile. Zoe was incorrigible, but she also had a gorgeous voice, and she had to admit, the image of Zoe dancing the way Mimi did...

“You’re not going to give up, are you?”

“Nope.”

“And if I hang up and turn off my phone?”

“I recruit Usagi and Mina.”

Amy laughed. “Fine.”

“You have five minutes. Love ya, babe.”

“Mmm-hmm.” Sighing, Amy saved the paper as she hung up and moved to put on a modest but short dress that Mina had made her buy for “clubbing.”
