First: Orientation
It went well enough. There were five of us being oriented. One who could not shut up, so what was supposed to take an hour, hour and a half at the most, took two and a half hours. Since it means a tiny bit of extra money in my pocket, I'm not going to complain.
It seems like it'll be fun, though definitely work.
Unfortunately, I won't be "certified" until Sunday, because I'm doing some over night babysitting Thursday-Sunday, so I'm not available this Friday. Also unfortunately, we're not scheduled for the first week after that, so any shifts I pick up that week will be just that--picked up. With any luck, I'll get a couple.
I then ran to Kohl's and got some stuff I need clothes wise for work, though I need to find a pair of slip-free shoes. I hear I can get them at Wal-Mart, so I'll be doing that over the next couple of days.
Second: Body Stuffs
So, over the past month and a half, I did a lot of stress eating and not a lot of activity (beyond sleeping and filling out applications and watching Dr. Who and stressing). So, Thursday, beginning to feel better, recovered, hopeful, etc., I jumped on a scale, and almost slipped right back into full out depression. The numbers on the scale were the highest I can ever remember them being--admittedly, it's by no mean over weight, but it was still higher than I was comfortable with. This did not particularly surprise me, since my clothes were fitting tighter, and the 11 year-old adopted niece had actually commented on it.
My goal is to lose down to 110 (with my height, that's still a good 2.2 pounds above under weight. And I've spoken to Scott about helping me make sure I don't slip back into anorexia (yes, I'm sorry to say, I did say "back." I was never diagnosable, but I was well on track).
Counting calories (both consumed and used) and not stress eating--but also not denying myself--I've already lost over two pounds (though, to be fair, I didn't weigh at the right time the first day). Regardless, I feel bettre having a goal and specific steps.
Third: Beads
I found a new bead store that has classes and stuff, so hopefully I'll get some training in more techniques and be able to open an etsy soon.
