For verisimilitude9

Prompt: "One word frees us of all the weight and pain in life. That word is love."

This was written quickly and unbetaed, but I hope you enjoy!

Kadir was tired. He might not admit it to anyone, as that would cost him his reputation as the leader of the Shitennou, but he was bone-weary.

When not fighting youma, his time was spent training, and he hated the thought of Kaela, Jabari, or any of the others fighting. He knew it was not fully rational, but these were his children, nieces, and nephews. He did not want them to spend their lives fighting evil and chaos. He wanted to protect them.

He sighed as he let the water run over him. This fight had been him and Zoisite with the girls, and they’d handled it well. There had been no need to call for back-up. The girls had been excited by how well they had defeated the youma, though he’d seen from Zoe’s expression that she felt the same way he did about the kids fighting.

Shaking himself out of his reverie, he cut off the water and stepped out of the shower. The girls were more than competent fighters, and even the boys were able to hold their own in a pinch--at least until help could arrive. He knew he should be proud, and he was, but he was a father and an uncle first.

Drying his hair with the towel, he stepped into the bedroom, only to find his wife naked and sprawled out on the bed, smiling up at him as he emerged from the bathroom. “Hi there.”

His eyes roamed over the gorgeous woman and a small smile formed on his lips. “Hi, yourself. You’re home a bit early, aren’t you?”

Minako shrugged and pushed herself up, allowing him a fuller view of her breasts, taught stomach, and shaved mound. “A little birdy told me you had a rough day. I thought I’d see if I could ease it a bit.”

And she did. As he held her, stroking her golden hair afterwards, he remembered that the fight now was worth it if it meant he’d have eternity with his goddess.
