Xterra Tahoe City

Holy crap, that was something else. Between the Wildflower Long Course training I just finished and all the mountain bike racing I had been doing, I'd be able to handle the Xterra Tahoe City event without any issues. As usual, things didn't turn out that way.

If I were contending for a championship of some sorts, I might consider that sort of acclimation / taper period. As a recreational triathlete, I just do the best with what I have!

Wow nice job if a bit of a smackdown!

If I were gonna race at that altitude I'd want to arrive 2 weeks early and spend my taper period acclimating, preferably up around 8-9000' alt.

You're not kidding. I thought Wildflower was tough - those trails were narrower, steeper, and rockier. Time to invest in some stiffer soled trail running shoes...
