A day at the California Speedway
When I arrived at the track yesterday, I asked a Suzuki technician if I could flip the shift pattern on the bike I was scheduled to ride to a GP shift pattern (one up, five down). A voice behind me answered my question.
"I'm not sure if you can do that, the gear synchronizers may not mesh correctly under the different loads placed on it. Just kidding, you should be fine."
It was Kevin Schwantz, the 1993 world champion. How often does a guy get to take a day off of work, ride around a new rocketship of a motorcycle, and follow around one of the greatest racers in the history of the sport?
That new Suzuki is effin FAST....
