I finally have a Washington driver's license. Well, sort of. They don't actually make them for you while you're there; they print off a temporary paper one, and mail the real one to you. The Wisconsin DMV kicks the Washington DOL's ass. Particularly because Washington has completely different (privately operated) locations for registering vehicles than for licensing. And I can't get my car registered yet; I need to prove that it was a gift, or pay sales tax on the market value of the car -- not on the $1.00 that the title says I paid for the car, on the market value. What fuck.

We went on a road trip the other day, and found a ShopKo. There was an unreasonable amount of excitement. They don't have ShopKos around here. I bought the "deluxe edition" of Batman Begins; it was the first reasonable-priced store I've found that wasn't sold out of it.
Roadtrips in northwest Washington are not anywhere near as fun as in the Midwest. Rain is not helpful for aimless wandering. And every town here is just a clone of the same strip mall/shopping center. When ShopKo is a hint of personality, something is very wrong.
