borrowed from the Library:
Getz/Gilberto, Stan Getz & João Gilberto, 1963.
7/10. Classic. I've heard at least six of the eight tracks many times before, although I never knew they were from the same album.
most of
Ella & Louis, Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong, 1957 [one track is scratched/unplayable].
6/10. Ella Fitzgerald annoys me. These are the least obnoxious performances I've heard from her, and Armstrong and everyone else sounds great, but she still bugs me.
Chronicle, Credence Clearwater Revival, 1976.
6/10. An extremely thorough greatest hits compilation, including the absurdly long version of "I Heard It Through the Grapevine."
Platinum & Gold Collection, Lou Reed, 2004.
4/10. A terrible best of compilation. Sort of a document of how badly 1960's rock musicians age. A few of the earlier tracks are pleasant (but nothing worth bothering about), but by the time you get to the later stuff it's completely horrible.
