from IMDb's Top 250:

#245. Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Mike Nichols (dir.), Ernest Lehman (wr.), Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, 1966.
(+) concept - Adaptation of Edward Albee's play.
(+) story
(+) characters
(+) dialog
(+) pacing
(+) cinematography
(+) special effects/design
(+) acting - Apparently, Richard Burton is awesome.
(+) music
(+) What does Mr. Comfypants think? - Hilariously funny and tensely suspenseful, simultaneously.
Total: /10

#222. Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari (The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari), Robert Wiene (dir.), Hans Janowitz (wr.), Carl Mayer (wr.), Werner Krauss, 1920.
(-) concept - I don't get it. The guy is sleeping, and wakes up, and, that's scary?
(-) story
(-) characters
(-) dialog - There's an annoying lot of it for a silent film.
(+) pacing
(+) cinematography
(+) special effects/design
(-) acting
(+) music - The 1996 score by Timothy Brock. Not sure if it's original or a restoration, but it's very good.
(-) What does Mr. Comfypants think? - Great visuals, but everything else is very badly done.
Total: 4/10

#211. Spartacus, Stanley Kubrick (dir.), Dalton Trumbo (wr.), Kirk Douglas, 1960.
(-) concept - Oh look, a historical epic. I wonder if I'll completely hate it...
(-) story - Poorly constructed in several important ways.
(+) characters
(+) dialog
(-) pacing
(-) cinematography - Not bad, but bad for Kubrick.
(+) special effects/design
(+) acting
(+) music - I don't like it for the most part, but the bit leading up to the battle wins me over.
(-) What does Mr. Comfypants think? - Boring. There are a lot of potentially good ideas (like the "I am Spartacus" bit near the end) ruined by bad writing.
Total: 5/10
