Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
I'm pretty critical of the whole Harry Potter business, but that was a damn good movie -- as good as a Harry Potter movie could be. 9/10
Star Trek: The Next Generation: Season 4 (7 discs)
Some very good episodes, but also (as usual) some very bad ones. And I just don't care about Klingon/Romulan relations. This is escapism, people, just go to battle already. 8/10
Superman: The Animated Series: Vol. 1 (3 discs)
Pros: The first episode is amazing; Clancy Fucking Brown; Brad Garrett's funny; frequent nods to Max Fleischer (Punch that lazer beam!). Cons: most of the rest of the series. Okay, mostly nothing's outright bad (except for Livewire (shudder)), but the guys doing the show can do a lot better. 8/10
Home Movies: Season 4 (3 discs)
Okay, I can see why they got canceled. Jon Benjamin is still hilarious, and Walter and Perry get to feature heavily, but mostly the show has settled down to a sit-com quality of funny. 7/10
Hellboy: Animated: Blood & Iron
I knew from the first animated movie that the animation/direction would suck, but this one also has bad writing: a vampire "story" that wanders aimlessly and barely holds together logically. And although they've still got all the great voice actors for the "lead" roles (Ron Pearlman, John Hurt), they have very few lines compared with the unfamous people. In fact, I think Hellboy's probably only on screen for about half the film at best. 5/10
