I don't know if you are on here anymore...gorillaintrptedFebruary 10 2007, 22:21:32 UTC
... but I figured leaving a message on myspace would be kind of silly considering how many people probably do that. Either way, LJ alerts your email to new messages, so...
First, congratulations on your success (even though it doesn't surprise me because I knew you'd be enormously successful). Second, I wanted to thank you because after going through school (which I don't regret, because I had a good time throughout most of school and learned a lot), I realized I'm just not going to be able to cut it working some lame 9-5 job. I found a way to make art for a living. I struggled trying to do the practical thing and just kind of forget about creating, but you probably better than anyone knows that that just isn't possible. Art is like a big hairy monster that lives inside you and pretty much is going to come out and smack you upside the head if you don't do what you really know you want to do. Anyway, I'm not struggling with it anymore and it's great. I think part of that I owe to you because of how driven you are to make your life revolve around what you're truly passionate about.
I'm not going to make this a big rambling thing, but I figured if anyone would understand how exciting it is to have achieved a degree of success in some creative field, it'd be you, even if we don't really talk anymore. And, you know, thanks for being cool and for being an inspiration to me to not give up on my dream.
