Went camping over NYE. Took a little while to wind into, but it was pretty cool by the end. Dirt swim beer. Dirt swim beer. Fire fire wedges beer. Dirt swim beer. Fire fire dirt swim mead coffee absinthe absinthe absinthe water water home. Tequila, tonic. Sleep sleep sleep.
Went shooting the other day. Shoulder still hurts. But there's something addictive at hitting the inner circle of a target at 500 meters with iron sights. Associates of mine have moved up the echelons and have their own access to a rifle range. The only other times I'd been it was in a large group, with people waiting to shoot after you. So it was cool for it to be just four of us and being able to take as long as I wanted sighting. It was the first time Angela had been shooting, I do believe she found it rather liberating.
Went out the back the other morning with a cup of coffee, collapsed in a hammock and finished a book about a lighthouse keeper. It was a most bizzare thing, he says, the realization that I was being paid to stargaze. Curious, I thought, I too have been paid to stargaze for elongated periods of time.
Went out to Ambergate Reserve the other night but it was too scary so we left to sit on the car bonnet and satellite spot. Things move and creak, the wind has an empty voice and the ambiguity of the dark reflects in upon itself, multiplying itself to the infinite. Went back again in the afternoon - It's alot less scary in the day.
Went for a bike ride to an oval with a backpack full of beer today. Rolled in the grass, played glow in the dark frisbee, drank beer and stargazed. Rode home in the dark with improvised lamps and somewhat intoxicated.
