Which X-Men comics have you read, if any? (i.e. House of M, etc.) New X-Men: Academy X, Civil War (crossover), some original X-Men online, first quarter of Age of Apocalypse

Previous role play experience (recommended, not required): 5-ish years

Character desired for play: Piotr Nikolaievitch Rasputin

Canon or Original Character (OC)?: Canon

Character’s Canon Codename: Colossus

Character’s Age: 29

Character's Powers: Originally Colossus could sustain a state of organic metal, able to turn it “on” and “off” at will. However, due to a catastrophe, he currently is always in his metalloid state. Rather, he requires vast amounts of concentration to maintain a human appearance. He also has superhuman strength and stamina, both of which are unknown in their limit. Resistant to most injury and fatality, Colossus these days requires only a minimal amount of food or water.

Character's Personality: Piotr is seen in the eyes of his friends and comrades as a kind and compassionate person. Being raised simply, he puts everyone before himself and is thus quite selfless. He maintains the ideal of trust being one of the most important things in life and friendship, and it is the basis of how he makes decisions. This, however, is not to say he is too trusting or gullible. He’s been known to make serious judgment calls and has, regrettably, had to betray some in battle. Piotr is, in turn, peaceful. He fights because he has to, not because he wants to. In order to protect those he loves, he must injure those he dislikes. Though it pains him to do so, unless by some great chance he has been angered. The man has a very level head and isn’t easily enraged.

Once every week or two he will write his parents, back in Russia. He enjoys keeping in contact with them and is glad to do so, as he knows they are safe. Again, always putting others before himself. Piotr would most likely throw himself in front of a crashing plane if it meant saving someone he loved. Speaking of love, he is quite shy about his relationships. Even now he gets embarrassed by some of the most silly things, but luckily metal cannot blush. It might take him quite some time to express his feelings, as he is just so humble and sweet. Similar to a teddy bear. He’s made himself someone people can always go to if they need help or advice, or even just a hug.

As a note, Piotr would never try to cover up his accent. He takes pride in being who he is, be it Russian, or the Tin Man. He likes small animals, like kittens or rabbits, as well as art. He’s very creative, and in his spare time could easily spend hours outside sketching a scene until it was perfect.

Character's Physical Description/Play By: Standing at 7’5” in his fully transformed state and weighing in at 500 pounds, Colossus is a force to be reckoned with. His muscles are defined, chiseled, and strong. His skin, when “human” is a natural pale cream, probably due to the lack of sunlight up in Russia. His eyes are blue and his hair is short cropped, black. In his daily state of metal, he’s a glinting silver. A knight in shining armor.

PB: Daniel Cudmore (because I am original and couldn’t find anyone else.)

Character's History: After growing up simply on a little farm in Russia, big things just seemed to start happening. Piotr was a very large child for his age, and his family didn’t really think much of it. He was a good boy, a strong boy, who helped as much as he could around the farm. He liked helping too, he wasn’t an ungrateful child like those he went to school with. When the soviet started to come down hard, Piotr was there for his parents and siblings. His elder brother was not of as much concern as little Illyana, who was roughly half his age. He loved the dear with all of his heart and would do anything to protect her. And then out on the farm, as if out of nowhere, a tractor turned stray. Illyana, playing, or doing whatever it was she liked to do at the young age, was in the line of fire. Running over, and head long into the tractor, Piotr stopped it without even having to consider his own life at stake. Luckily, his mutant ability manifested then and there, before his family’s eyes. He went unscathed, his sister fine.

After that he was fine living his life as he did, only using his mutation to help when he couldn’t do something on his own. Gaining nearly an extra foot and being impervious to most dangers had its advantages on the farm. But he wasn’t left to his own devises for long, contacted early on by Xavier himself. It was then that Piotr joined the X-Men, becoming Colossus. He remained in America after that, for training, though he wrote home so often one might say he did so once a day. After a second endemic happened, in which his sweet sister Illyana was kidnapped, Piotr vowed to free her. Once doing so, he convinced the girl to stay with him at Xavier’s. She did, but set Piotr to worry when she was in and out of Limbo in moments. But she didn’t return half her age, like the young man expected. For some time he continued to worry, but knew Illyana was still the girl he loved, and so he accepted her for her new change. The whole thought of aging so many years in mere seconds was an Earth shattering idea to Piotr, but clearly he over came it.

More trials came toward him and the rest of the X-Men, most of which he didn’t enjoy. Piotr was not a fighter because he wanted to, he only did what he felt had to be done. He wasn’t just going to stand around, waiting for the final outcome. If he could do something about it, he would. But the newest problem to occur, there was nothing he could do. Not a thing, and it killed him inside. In a flash it seemed the population of mutants was whipped clean. Not murdered or destroyed, but depowered, and Piotr was hurt. He prayed for his students, as he was now 29 and a teacher at Xaviers, that they would be alright. But he had a feeling this was something you were not just “alright” with once it was over.

[[A/N: Due to the fact that I haven’t seen/cannot find Illyana’s app and history, I’m going with a canon history. I can rework this later once I manage to get into contact with her, if you prefer! :} ]]

Third Person Sample RP Tag: Working out in the gym was hardly a “work out” to the poor man. But it was, in Piotr’s opinion, the thought that counted. His hands grasped the handle bars on the press after he set the weights to as much as they could possibly handle. It wasn’t enough. Adjusting his grip on the bars, he took a break and exhaled while pushing up. “Vone, two, three, four, fife. . .” Quietly Piotr counted to himself the presses, stopping a set once he reached thirty. Continuing to do five reps, he didn’t even break a sweat on his silver skin.

Deciding to try something else, he sat up and looked around the room. Nothing really seemed worth his time at the moment. He no longer was in the mood. Sighing, he ran his hands over his head before going and putting away the weights. They clanked heavily on their stales and he questioned the racks stability. But, as nothing happened or tipped, he left from the workout room with heavy steps. Maybe he would go and draw, write his parents? When had he last written, he asked himself? Last Monday, maybe. Well, it had been a week, but he had nothing eventful to report. While he wouldn’t mind just writing a simple ‘hello,’ he would prefer to give something of substance.

In the halls on his way to his room, where he would change his shorts, he saw a student he worked with. “Ah,” he waved the boy over with a smile. “Haf you seen Illyana?” he asked as clearly as he could. No matter how many years Piotr spent in America, he was sure he would retain his accent. It was sort of endearing, anyway. But, that aside, the boy said no. Nodding in thanks, the Tin Man continued on toward his room. He’d figure something out.

First Person Sample: The latest event has left a lot of the students with little hope. I console those I can, but the many that I could not will be leaving. They have been. . .depowered. Some, I suppose, want this. They have always wanted to be “normal.” I saw it in their art. It is more revealing than some would think. I am going to stay closer to my room these coming days, for the students. Several have already asked if they could come in during a study or lunch. I won’t deny them. It is there therapy. I imagine they don’t want to talk about it, but there is sadness in their faces and pen strokes. One of the youngest in my classes had been depowered. She drew with crayon on a large sketch pad herself. But she was in a bird cage with people, I assume they were members of her family, looking at her.

I should rather like her to stay, than go home to that. Though it is only her imagination, I worry for her. And everyone. Losing family to anything is hard, banishing them may just be harder. But taking that child back after however long? I don’t wish to think on it. I only wish there was more I could do.

[[A/N: In the event Piotr would decide to write in Russian, or put up a copy of his letter to his parents, the words will be in italics to make things more simply. There will probably be a note at the beginning or end of the entry anyway, but this is just a heads up. He also writes differently than he speaks, seeing as you can’t type an accent.]]

Read the rules? It’s such a pity you have to ask, Piotr is sure to be feeling the love from this. Cut him deep, man. Well, lucky for him there’s Kitty. A good hug can fix this!
