I've been meaning to make a list of my 10 favorite cover songs for about a year now. So I finally sat down and did it. So in no particular order...
1. Jimmy Hendrix - All Along The Watchtower (Bob Dylan)
2. Fiona Apple - Across the Universe (The Beatles)
3. 10,000 Maniacs - Because the Night (Joni Mitchell)
4. Johnny Cash - Hurt (Nine Inch Nails)
5. Millow - Technology (50 Cent)
6. Vanilla Sky - Umbrella (Rihanna)
7. Whitney Huston - I will Always Love You (Dolly Parton)
8. Joan Jett - I Love Rock N Roll (The Arrows)
9.Isreal Kamakawiwo'ole - Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World (Judy Garland & Louie Armstrong respectively)*
10. The Bird and The Bee - Please Don't Stop the Music (Rihanna)
Honorable mention: Alien Ant Farm - Smooth Criminal. Very excellent cover, but you should not and can not take away classic Michael Jackson from current Michael Jackson. It's all he's got.
* Counting as one song because the cover was done as one song
