How can we eliminate poverty?

May 25, 2010 23:57

A lot of the ideals people have towards eliminating poverty seem to extend from the hopeful belief that if only there was a way for people to work their way out of it, they would.

Unfortunately, the world is possessed of the same people throughout. People tend to be more concerned with frivolities rather than core necessities. Why is it that a person living on less than $2 a day can still find a quarter or two a day to spend on alcohol and cigarettes?
