Having supposedly independent sources setting economic policy to curry favor with policy makers is doomed to fail badly. Maybe not next year, but one day.
As you can see in the above article, part of the issue from this started in 1970 then became more problematic in 2000. I say a decade or so down river we'll see the supposed reforms start bearing fruit.
