Well, I’ve been a little busy so I’m a few movie reviews behind. Lets get right to it.
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
Ok, I’m gonna give this movie 2 different ratings. One as a fan of the comics, the other as a general movie goer.
Comic Fan: 0.5 of 5
General Movie Goer: 3.5 of 5
Ok, as a fan of the comics I believe that the first half of the movie was pretty good, but the second half really tanked everything good the coming of Galactus can and should be. Unfortunately Johnny Storm is the only truly redeeming thing about this movie, yet again. They did a commendable job on the Surfer (They even used his real name, shockingly enough) But bitched him out a LOT. And don’t even get me started on Galactus.
All in all, comic fans that know and like the FF and this classic tale will be sorely disappointed by this celluloid fare. For those that know nothing of the origins of this groundbreaking tale, ignorance truly is bliss.
I could go into a lot more detail, but I don’t want to ruin anything for anyone.
Oceans Thirteen
4 out of 5
I was very happy with the third offering of the Oceans saga. All the great elements that made the previous two installments so enjoyable are once again present. All in all, if you like Oceans Eleven and Oceans Twelve then by all means go see Oceans Thirteen. I’d go into more detail, but again, I’d hate to spoil this movie for anyone.
Shrek the Third
3.5 of 5
This movie is cute and entertaining. I enjoyed it a little more then the second film and overall recommend seeing it. Hearing Eric Idle as the voice of Merlin was a pleasant surprise as well.
Hope this helps anyone, sorry for the shortness and fairly ambigious reviews but something is better then nothing. I’m always up to expand *ahem* rant *ahem* on my reviews if people want to call or IM me however :0)
