I guess it's been about three weeks or so since I did a real update here. It's been a pretty intense three weeks, outside of the last one though.. well.. I can't really say that.
The first week after the last major update was all homework and work. I probably mentioned that I had a major project to finish up by the first and the independent study to finish up by the day before graduating. So that week of April was pretty busy. Sam came and visited that weekend and I got a chance to see him for a bit before I had to work my ass off. Either way, I finished up the project in time and even had it in an hour early.
That second week was supposed to be a little more hectic than it was. I was supposed to have the paper done Monday, Monday night through Wednesday I was supposed to be in Traverse City, then Windsor Thursday night and Friday Morning, then Friday graudation. Well, that's how it was SUPPOSED to go, but as we all know, my life doesn't work on "supposed to." Turns out the Wednesday return was turned to a Tuesday to get the independent study done on time, which turned to not going to TC at all because of some car trouble (which is taken care of now). The independent study got mostly finished by Thursday morning (finished totally Monday night after graduation) and we went to Windsor that night, came back on Friday morning and went to graduation that night and then hit up a kegger at Sean's. As many of you might know, I don't give two hoots about graduation, but I went anyway. Mostly because there was only two of us in my program getting a degree, including myself, but it was kinda fun. The ceremony went by pretty fast. I felt bad though cause my mom couldn't make it down, but that's really because she was feeling bad that she couldn't make it. She'd been having problems with allergies and she was gettin kinda drowsy on the road, I was just glad she didn't come because I'd be worried for her during the whole trip. Dad and Jeanne made it down though, so that was cool.
Week three was all focused on work. Monday I got the last of everything done with school. I finished up the last of work for MSU on Monday and Wednesday. So I'm down to one job. Speaking of jobs too, I was hoping to wait for full confirmation, but it looks as though Game 7 went into extra innings and the final score isn't in completely, but its looking like my record is now 1-6. Basically, I got a call Monday afternoon and a long story short, I didn't get the job, but a second spot opened up and they offered it to me. So I guess you can say that 2nd place in a race that has 2 prizes still makes you a winner. Either way, right now they're having problems getting me through the Civil Service dept. They're saying that I'm not qualified for the pay grade that is being offered. That's a bunch of horse shit, but oh well. They said what they might do is downgrade me by one level and call me a "trainee" and move me to the upper end of the pay scale for that grade so I'd be making the same and I'd get promoted back to what I should have been to begin with after my first year. I told them I was totally cool with that. Either way, its kinda nerve wracking and I better hear about it soon. I'm sure it'll work out fine.. its just that I hate making a call this early on it because I haven't signed on the dotted line. You guys will probably be the 5th to know when it happens though!
