SAINT MAX

I though I’ll do a post about Javatrekking today. I also thought for the sake of the soul of me, myself and I -  as well as those of my numerous readers I will introduce us all from time to time to our extended family in heaven whenever I post - as a sort of postscript or something.  The post about fair trade coffee wasn’t written - but let me at least introduce you to Saint Maximilan of Celeia better known as plain old Max who features on today's Calender of Saints

Max freed the family slaves and gave away his fortune to the poor when his parents died. He worked as a missionary bishop for 20 years thereafter. He was eventually ordered by secular authorities to prove his loyalty by sacrificing to idols. Max refused and he was martyred on the order of Governor Eulasius (Not related to Elvis)

Saint Max was beheaded on 12 October 284

Moral of the story:

Sell your slaves for profit, take the money and run - spend it on wine, women and song. (It rhymes)

If some joker orders you to barbeque a lamb in front of a silly statue - do as instructed.

Beheading (your own) isn’t fun.
