MAX, MO AND THE REST OF THE MENAGERIE

My youngest daughter is a real animal person. She’s done a course in animal behaviorism as well as a three year college diploma in Horse and Stable Management a couple of years ago.  She dropped out of her practical year as the farm was far too isolated and the living conditions too primitive and she’s since changed careers completely into payroll management. I can live with that as I know from personal experience that life takes you on roads that you never planned.

She and her boyfriend have a whole menagerie of pets.  Mo, an African Grey Parrot who creates such an unholy racket that I would have stuck him into the microwave a long time ago if I had any say. She also has three dogs, Rocky, Noodles and Joey, and then there was Max.

Max was the most beautiful cat, the first of her animal children who was a bit of a rondloper. Unfortunately poor Max used up his nine cat lives in a little more than four years. He was shot with a pellet gun some time back by an unknown idiot and nearly died as the bullet lodged close to his spine.  Maxie fully recovered but was sadly run over by a car on Saturday. My daughter is absolutely devastated and I know so well how she feels.   We tend to get too attached to our animals as they get into our hearts under the radar.

Sandra, I wish I could make it better for you, but I can’t

Rest in peace Max
