IN THE NAME OF THE ROSE

Aug 30, 2009 16:49

Tell me, is the rose naked
or is that her only dress?

Why do trees conceal
the splendor of their roots?

Who hears the regrets
of the thieving automobile?

Is there anything in the world sadder
than a train standing in the rain?

-Pablo Neruda

I was playing around with my camera fitted with a 1.8/50 manual focus prime lens that my brother gifted to me. I bought an adapter for the Canon EOS that enables one to fit older (non digital) lenses at a fraction of the cost.

I really like this image, there is certain melancholy moodiness hidden in the shadows and contrasts.  The roses I brought for ♥ girl and there were too many for a glass vase so I stuck the left over ones in an old jug she bought from the local charity shop a couple of years ago.  (click on the image to enlarge)
